National Technical Systems Awarded 2-Year Extension of Exclusive MoCA Certification Agreement

Testing of Faster, More Robust MoCA 2.0 Products Coming Soon

Calabasas, CA (August 17, 2010) … National Technical Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: NTSC) (NTS), a leading provider of engineering services, announced today that the Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA®) has extended its agreement with NTS to be the exclusive worldwide testing laboratory for MoCA product certifications for an additional 2 years.

MoCA is the standard for home entertainment networking. It is the only standard in deployment by all three pay TV segments—cable, satellite and IPTV. During certification, products to be MoCA certified are subjected to a battery of tests within a controlled environment to ensure they interoperate with other certified products from other MoCA members.

“NTS has worked hard to optimize and automate testing for MoCA 1.0 and 1.1 to provide our members with the quality certification testing they need at an even more affordable price,” said Tom Leacock, Chairman of the MoCA Certification Working Group. “We look forward to continuing to work with NTS on MoCA certifications and to bringing more MoCA products to market.”

Following more than three years of successful certification testing, MoCA and NTS jointly agreed to extend the NTS exclusivity due to the Company’s experience and skill performing MoCA certification testing. During that time, NTS also helped MoCA enhance the testing process by optimizing the suite of tests to allow completion in a shorter time. In addition, NTS automated a portion of the testing process, which enabled NTS to reduce the cost of testing for MoCA members. NTS will also provide certification testing for soon to be released faster, more robust MoCA 2.0 products.

“We are pleased to have our relationship with MoCA extended, and look forward to helping many more members get their MoCA products into the market,” said Osman Sakr, NTS CTO. “The ability of MoCA members to work with NTS for certification of their products whenever those products are about ready for market introduction will provide members the resources and flexibility needed to complete the certification process in a timely manner and meet their product release schedules.”
