December 10, 2024, San Ramon, CA – The Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA®) is pleased to announce DISH Network, a wholly owned subsidiary of EchoStar, has joined the Alliance.
This partnership between MoCA® and DISH Network demonstrates DISH’s commitment to leveraging the Alliance’s high-performance, standards-based technologies that enhance home and multi-dwelling unit (MDU) networking solutions while allowing service providers like DISH, original design manufacturers (ODMs) and original equipment manufacturers (OEMS) to offer multi-gigabit services and greater connectivity reliability.
MoCA develops and promotes service operator network technologies which deliver high-speed, low-latency performance over existing coaxial cables, enabling superior in-home and in-building connectivity. By joining MoCA, DISH will gain access to MoCA technologies, including MoCA 2.0 and MoCA 2.5. These standards offer speeds up to 1 Gbps and 2.5 Gbps, respectively, enabling significant improvements to home network performance through existing coaxial infrastructure.
The addition of DISH to MoCA adds to the Alliance’s roster of industry leaders, combining MoCA’s proven network connectivity and extension standards with DISH’s innovative entertainment and connectivity solutions. As a MoCA member, DISH will be positioned to accelerate the deployment of next-generation single-family unit (SFU) in-home and MDU in-building networking solutions, utilizing MoCA's robust, high-speed standards to meet increasing consumer demand for seamless, reliable, gigabit-plus connectivity.
