Four CommUNications Firms Join MoCA™

San Ramon, CA – March 22, 2006 – Four communications product and technology firms – Tellabs (NASDAQ: TLAB), Fujitsu Network Communications, JDSU, and Entrisphere have recently joined the Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA).  All four firms are dedicated to enhancing digital video entertainment, communications and networking through broadband mediums including coax cabling.

“Tellabs continues to enable service providers to advance their FTTP networks to deliver the high-bandwidth entertainment and data services their customers demand, “ said Asghar Mostafa, vice president of product development for Tellabs.  “Integrating MoCA into Tellabs ONTs eliminates the need for new in-home wiring, enabling our customers to reduce installation costs and connect more homes per day.“

Tellabs ONTs include MoCA technology, which reduces FTTP deployment costs by eliminating the need to install new wires to deliver triple play services to houses, apartments and businesses.

“Our MoCA membership will provide us with detailed understanding of how consumers can enable the future of in-home networking of digital entertainment using coaxial cable via a new de facto standard – MoCA,” said Doug Saylor, senior vice president of planning and development at Fujitsu Network Communications.
“JDSU is proud to be a member of MoCA,” said Kevin Oliver, director of the Cable Networks business unit of JDSU’s Communications Test and Measurement Group.  “As JDSU’s test solutions continue to help enable service providers to meet industry demand for triple-play services, our association with MoCA supports our strategy to enable home networks to deliver new advanced services.“

Entrisphere focuses on the access side of network evolution.

“Entrisphere is pleased to become part of MoCA.  Our experience deploying fiber access solutions has highlighted the need for an in-home broadband distribution standard that will use existing coax wiring and reduce the cost of installation.  MoCA provides that standard for many of our customers.” said Don McCullough, Entrisphere’s director of product marketing.

“MoCA is pleased to announce new membership from four companies that are each significant to the telecommunications industry.  Entrisphere, Fujitsu Network Communications, JDSU and Tellabs are welcome additions and make MoCA’s already impressive member roster measurably more so,” said Ladd Wardani, president of MoCA.
